Honors Abound for POP Students

Excuse us for bragging, but we've got some great news about our POP students this year.

Trumpeter Maerone Alfa was validictorian of her graduating class at St. Francis de Sales and she won the coveted Connelly Foundation Neumann Scholar Award.  The Neumann Scholar Award pays full tuition for 4 years at the Catholic School of her choice.  Maerone is attending West Catholic Prepartory High School in the fall.

Bassist Kaleb Messele won the Peacemaker Award at St. Francis de Sales.

POP graduate, cellist Anjelica Rooks, who now attends Bonner Prendie High School, won a $2,500 Marian Anderson Award Youth Artist Study Grant, which she will use to purchase a new cello and for lessons.

POP graduate, cellist Simone Rogers, who attends Central High School, will attend Sphinx Performance Academy this summer on full scholarship.

POP graduates, cellist Simone Rogers and violinist Zebediah Coombs, both of whom attend Central High School, will attend Wyoming Seminary Performing Arts Institute this summer on full scholarship.

POP graduate, violist Abigail Okokuro, who attends West Catholic Preparatory High School, will attend PointCounterpoint Summer Music Camp this summer on full scholarship.

Violinist Raven Burkhalter, who will attend String Theory Charter High School in the fall, will attend PIMF (Philadelphia International Music Festival) on full scholarship this summer where she will study with Kimberly Fisher, Principal Second Violin of The Philadelphia Orchestra. 

Bassist and drummer Nazir Ebo, who will attend West Catholic Preparatory High School in the fall, will attend the Kimmel Center Jazz Camp this summer on full scholarship.

POP graduate, cellist Heavenly Daye, attends Bishop Hallahan High School on a full music scholarship.

Congrats to these talented students of whom we are very proud.
